What is with the new asst da on this season—Hadid???
She is so poorly written and poorly acted
Is she supposed to commit so many bad decisions that she leaves and Carisa gets her job?
I have yet to see her show good legal knowledge, street smarts, or moral courage...

The inconsistencies drives me crazy. When Fin became a Sgt he was told that all new Sgts had to transfer to new units, but when Benson became a Sgt not only did she stay in the unit she became the CO.

Not to mention her meteoric rise from Sgt to Lt to Capt all within the span of a few years. She also regularly goes out on calls herself instead of doing the administrative work that a CO of a unit should be doing (she, of course, can do it all!).

Never really enjoyed it without both of them.
I read something the other day...and it's killing me I can't remember where I read this, but they said Chris Meloni was smart to get out when he did (10 seasons I think??) And I agree. I love Stabler and swore I wouldn't watch once he was gone (I still watch, just when I do some binge repeats).
Since he's been gone the storylines have been at times far fetched. There was a while there where the show became more about the drama in the detective's lives and not whatever case it is they had.

I hated Meloni
And there were plenty of shows that dragged his family life, especially his daughter, into the story line
And why all this need to go back and back to Meloni when the thread is about the current season==
They are all off topic really
Start a thread about Meloni being the best think about SVU if you want—and believe it

Last week's plot was convoluted to me. Killing a girl to frame the guy so he will go back to prison?

I also don't understand how her giving the kid an alibi would have saved him.

I used to watch this show all the time but after so many years the stories got stale. I mean, really, how many storylines can you do about special victims?

I also preferred Stabler to Benson. While he had a short fuse, she annoys me with her badgering of victims to make them testify. One of the episodes I watched recently from a few years back had the victim committing suicide rather than testify.

Agree. I started watching around Season 10 and stopped around Season 17.
