The problem with Ward is that the writers are simply crafting him as Generic Bad Guy. Snooze. Do something interesting with him or get rid of him.
Actually, I've been reading some articles online that list Grant Ward as the second best Marvel villain overall, after Kilgrave from Jessica Jones. This is among all the movies and TV series' so far.

Nah. Kingpin, for one, was far superior to Grant Ward as a villain. Maybe they meant "Second best Marvel Television Villains on a Currently Running Series."

They must be watching a different show than I am then. I find Ward completely uninteresting. Ward wants to take down SHIELD and be an international power broker. Why? Ummm ... well, because that's what bad guys do, I guess.
For all of the things I enjoy about this show, the villains aren't one of them. Paper thin and uninteresting.

Makes me wonder who they're polling?

Damn. I was yelling at the screen, so many opportunities to kill him, until he finally did, ... until he came back. I had a nagging feeling that he wouldn't truly die.
I get it, stupid Hydra theme of the head just reappearing again and again but, I don't know, at a certain point it just gets to be lazy. Ward turning bad, then slightly more bad, and now EVIL! Christ. I guess technically he is dead but considering the actor who plays him has such limited range I doubt there will be any difference from trying-bad-guy to evil-incarnate-guy except maybe with more mascara. My patience is running thin with the show's team. I don't get it, Agent Carter is so good, so why?
I think I understand, Whedon's old team seem to be stuck in the 90s era of television writing. How many times did Buffy deal with Angelus, constant back and forth but for reasons I can't explain at the moment, I didn't mind it then as I do now. I guess I grew up.
Well I found myself yelling at the tv, don't kill him. Although I guess in the end it wouldn't have mattered. I do like how they put it all together for you without having to spell it out. We learned earlier that the society kept sending people through the stone on a regular basis - now we know why. It needs bodies. And now we know why the hydra symbol is snakes coming out of a skull.
What I want to know is this (because I have never read the comics): did the snake thing needing a human host come from marvel first, or from Stargate SG1?
