I just watched this on DVR. So many good cop shows in the last few years its hard to be original and this is sort of forumulaic. I didn't like the female serial killer, especially how quickly she became obvious, and hate her lips for some reason. Sick of the nonunderstanding wives and the men who throw themselves at them.
But.....I really liked the main character, there was good tension and good pacing. London is always a nice backdrop. I think its very worth watching again and I have it on DVR (although the annoying serial killer may drive me away eventually).

Preview – Luther (BBC America)

I have it recorded, but haven't watched. I was intrigued because i loved the stringer bell character on the wire and this actor is good!

Not sure if I'm watching epi 2 or 3 on DVR right now.

This main character plays out of the box, not sure how realistic it is but I've always wondered about how many cops seriously bend rules to get their man (so the speak
He is more ends justify the means, justice over law. A slippery slope to be sure but I think I would definatley have the same struggles.
Really good lead actor. Not loving some of the story lines. I watched a little bit of interviews etc. on Inside Luther.
The guy said their are 2 types of this kind of show - who dun it and how you catch'em - this is a how you catch'em. You do know who's done it and basically watch this guy go after them. In the first epi though he couldn't make it stick.
Interesting, I'll keep watching.

I just watched the ep where the police officers are getting killed. Unbelievably good acting!! I was sitting on the edge of the sofa the whole time. I kept it on the recorder and made a couple of other people watch it. They all didn't care in the least that they didn't understand the context of some of the issues (the girlfriend and the reporter). If this were an American show, Idris Elba (who plays Luther) and the young man he fought with at the end would be SHOWERED with acting awards.

If you loved Helen Mirren's Prime Suspect, watch Luther!

I am about to jump into this show and have been hearing nothing but good things. Of course they pretty much had at two words....Idris Elba. I will watch that beautiful man do anything. I still think Stringer Bell was one of the best tv characters of all time. He just owned that role. And did I mention how beautiful he is?

Ok I'm loving this show but its almost over at just 6 epi's! This article says Luther has been renewed.....for 2 x 1 hour epi's - What? 2? What's up with that?

They said Sherlock has been more popular in Britain - I tried watching it for a few minutes.....didn't grab me.

Just watched the last epi.
This was a truly great mini-series. If you haven't watched it and get the chance to catch reruns on BBCA I would definately give it a go.
