Where do I go for good furniture, preferably reputable stores that might cost a bit more than chain types? Moving to Owasso next week and furniture shopping will be at the top of the list of things to do. Thanks.

I buy my furniture at auctions and estate sales. I have no idea. Sorry. I hear Mathis Bros has good furniture.

Mathis Brothers is good but customer service is lousy and sales pressure is high. Rooms Today is the same company. We shopped for a new living room set last year, new sofa with dual recliners, love seat, ottoman, and recliner. We went to every large store in town and ended up buying from Sunshine furniture and saved about 50%. One place even told us they would match competitors prices but lost interest when we told them what sunshine was charging.

I have no idea what style of furniture you are looking for or how far you are willing to drive, but I have always wanted to check out the auction in Haskell (less than an hour from Owasso). They have beautiful things at every auction. I start to salivate every time I check out their website! I am not a big fan of antiques, but I am big on quality construction and you can't beat some of the older furniture when it comes to craftsmanship. You can check out their upcoming auctions here: Home (http://haskellauction.web.officelive.com/default.aspx - broken link). If you go, promise you will report back about the experience!

Mathis Bros. is the only "high end" furniture store in Tulsa. If you want gallery style, Mathis Bros is your only option.

I've shopped at Sunshine and never saw Henredon, Bernhardt, Ralph Lauren, etc., there.

Not only is Mathis Brothers not "the only" high end furniture store, it's not really very high end at all. There are far more expensive stores than Mathis Brothers in town.
