At&t has the best prices and good service. You can get their basic internet for $20. Unfortunately, you can only get their service if you live in certain areas of the city. If you live in an apartment, the whole complex is either at&t or Windstream. My old apartment complex was windstream only, and their service is terrible. Cox cable internet is a good alternative if you can't get at&t.

I have U-verse and really like it. So far we've been using it for 2.5 yrs without a single issue. Also, I would go without before switching back to Cox Cable. They don't give a crap about you and don't care if the product they are pushing works or not. Just my 2 cents.

My house was hit by lightning last week, and a U-verse technician came out later that same day to replace damaged equipment and get my internet, TV, and land line working again. I also like the Wi-Fi modem they give you.
