Sooner or later i was thinking maybe of driving my new Yaris to Atlanta from NY to visit my brother. this would be about an 1800 mile round trip
in the past my old 92 Tercel made 4 similar round trips in it's life time. after the 2nd trip which was in 1997 it needed a new O2 sensor to pass emissions and during the third trip in 1998 it started consuming too much oil which plagued it for the next 14 years until i donated it . from 2004 until 2011 it failed the emissions tests until "Joe Torre" my mechanic got it to pass each time
i ask because i am wondering if such trips are not really meant to be taken with such a small car(since the old tercel developed problems) and that my new Yaris might eventually develop same problems as a result of being taken on such long trips, or has technology improved since then so that it would no longer be a problem?
another question. how effective are the b umper protectors at staying on the car? would you say a Toyota protector would be best or any protector (like what they sell at the car wash stores?)?
