Does anyone know if your property taxes will go down if you own livestock, like chickens or goats? And if so, is there a certain amt of land you have to own in order to qualify?

Yes if you file for it.....but you can't just put a cow in your backyard and file....You can check with the county on the land thing...Not sure about the chickens and goats...

You're asking about an ag(ricultural) valuation of the property. This is both a simple and complicated way to lower your taxes. You can't just throw a cow on some land, though. The land has to be used to the intensity normal to the area, and this can vary by county. What animals qualify can vary by county, as well. The land has to be used for the qualifying agricultural use for five years before it will qualify for the exemption.

You'd do best to talk to your county ag agent and/or appraisal district. Plus, read the statute.
