My wife and recently visited New Braunfels and fell in love with the Landa park area and are considering retiring there in about 10 years. The only problem we see is a lack of decent housing. The city has lots of lower income type shacks, but very little of what we consider nice. My question is what are the future developement plans for the city and is this city developing into a retirement mecca?

We checked out New Braunfels and San Marcos when we were looking for our retirement home and city and liked what we saw in both of these cities and liked the proximity to Austin and San Santonio. We were looking at building our home and found some very nice newer neighborhoods to choose from.
