With all the talk of the Dallas suburbs (North Dallas in particular), you would think one of them would be the same stature as Ft. Collins or Naperville. Guess who got the third best in the U.S. (and the best in TEXAS)? Houston's Sugar Land.

No offense but who cares. It doesn't matter if it's Sugarland, Plano, or Naperville. They are all cookie cutter soulless characterless (if that's a word) suburbs. Give me Oak Park, Illinois over those three anyday.

Yes, and they all have the same corporate nomads doing the musical chairs among them...

Sugarland is not soulless. Some of it is only okay, but many parts of it are well kept and full of character and charm. Not to mention stunning.

I hate the suburbs. Hated them in Houston, hate them out here in DFW. I'll live in the city.

Same for me. Although, I don't exactly hate the suburbs. Many suburbs across this country are very enjoyable. Even for the urbane.

Oh no, it's soulless. I've had friends and family living there. I practically lived there and it's your average cookie cutter suburbs with little to no character. Their maybe pockets of nice areas but the majority of it exudes post WW2 suburbia. Their charm is as equal to Schaumburg, Illinois. Yes, I'll take the city as well. If I lived in Houston, it would be inside the loop.

If you want to nitpick...I guess so. But I stand by my initial comment that Sugarland is like Plano and Naperville in that it is a soulless suburb with hardly any character whatsoever. It looks no different at all from other post ww2 burbs in the nation.
