They're now growing significantly now, thanks to I-69C, I-69W and I-369 (and I-2 and I-49 too) respectively

but more so McAllen and Brownsville-Harlingen that are growing significantly

There should at least be a RGV sub-forum - more than a Million (1.3M+) people in this group of cities/area - deserves it's own distinction!
Hope MODS listen....

Hey if Tyler has one why not the RGV? I think the Waco/Killeen/Temple area deserves their own as well. Never understood why Tyler of all places got their own forum.

Many have asked including myself. It won't happen, I'm guessing due to the number of posts.

Tyler "of all places" had MORE interest shown in the General Section of the Texas Forum. By numbers of threads posts IN the general section.

Also, Lubbock, more than twice the size of Tyler has had less posts than Tyler. Also, Tyler and Lubbock have been on City Data about half the years as all the other Texas Sub-Forums have been. All but Tyler and Lubbock have had their own sub-forums since the inception of CD, about 5 or 6 years longer than L & T.

Another "also," Tyler now has half the threads and posts as Corpus Christi, but Tyler has been on here half the time as CC. Meaning likely, Tyler would have the activity of CC if Tyler had been on city data as long.

Finally, when Tyler received it own sub-forum there were and have been less posts to the Tyler sub-forum as there were in the General Texas Section of CD. Why, you likely ask, because you can NOW go to the Tyler SF and find the question that you would normally ask in the general section, has likely been asked in the Tyler SF.

Another way to say that, if you ask a question about, lest say Waco, in Texas General Section, all, will see that question asked until the question asked has less posts, interest, and "drops off" page one. Then later, the same question/comment may appear on the TGS, and the process repeats, WHERE AS, if the question was entered in the Waco SF, you could see the responses, NO NEED to repeat and and repeat in the TGS.

If that's not clear, then there is no hope, lol

Also, when Tyler's SF was created, because of what I said, there has been a dramatic downturn in questions and comments on Tyler in general, because you can SEE the questions and comments clearly on first page, IN the Tyler SF. Oh well. lol

Very lastly, I don't notice any on going large number of threads and comments CREATED on the RGV, even if they do have a million plus population. IF and when there is enough interest, the decision makers of CD Forums would create those sub-forums. Same way with Midland/Odessa, interest usually comes and goes with the up and down price of oil. Exception was when the long hot topic happened, when Midland was going to be the next Houston as far as an oil capital, and there was to be a, what was it, 60 story skyscraper built, now, that created many posts, which increased the demand for a M/O SF, look even today just a few threads on M/O

The LRGV (South Padre Island-Brownsville-Harlingen-McAllen region) should definitely have its own sub-forum. The region is isolated from the rest of Texas somewhat and deserves its own space. That might generate more interest among C-D users.

Tyler makes sense cause it's the biggest city in East Texas. I guess the RGV has Corpus but it should still have it's own. Lubbock can go with Midland, they should all be one. Killeen and all of those cities should have one too

Yes, the RGV should have its own forum. It is a growing area.

I agree, the RGV should have it's own. It doesn't come close to the area they want to stick it in.
