There is very little total discussion about the RGV in the Texas General Section or the General Texas Section, the area with no sub-forums.

At the time I've posted this, out of 29 thread topics on the first page, the page you see when you log in, there is just one mention out ot 29, of the RGV area in the thread title, one that has Brownsville and South Padre in the thread title. City Data, determines the creation of sub-forums by the number of threads, posts in the General Section before create a new sub-forum.

Lubbock and Tyler were added about 5 - 6 years ago, about 5 years after the creation and first sub-forums appeared. Tyler has had more than half the threads and posts than Corpus Christi on CD, yet half the time on C.D. about 3 times the size of Tyler. There needs to be enough interest/traffic to create a sub-forum. Threads are not created by population SIZE.

What I said back on 10-18-18 still applies today, 4 months later. lol

Maybe combine the corpus and RGV one? I agree that a RGV one wouldn't have enough traffic. The corpus one doesn't get all that much.

The problem is Corpus is not really close to the RGV and where they have it now, its not in that area either.

I recommend a forum on the southeast Texas border: Laredo + RGV

Many have been asking this for years including me when I first joined CD. Take a look at my join date and you will get an idea. There are apparently not enough posts? but there are in the Tyler forum? Mcallen alone has more people than Tyler, forget the rest of the RGV which has well over 1 million. Either way, it ain't happening, just post here in the Texas forum.

It doesn't matter if it has more people, there are not as many people that post from those places. There are maybe a couple of people on here that live there it seems. When information is asked most of it comes from people who don't live there anymore. Tyler has 2 posts that have been updated today and this is the only one regarding the RGV. There isn't even one thread about the RGV on the first page. Corpus doesn't even get many posts either, honestly.

I don't know why people don't seem to understand, it is about interest on City Data, not population numbers.

You know, inquires about an area by outsiders, responses from locals on here. Just remarks, comments about sub-forums already on city-data. Just amount of "traffic" on these areas. I've explained in detail several times on here in the last couple of years. But, I guess, some ask again. I notice some are repeat, askers, lol. yeah no such word.

Oh well

Oh, as I've pointed out, Corpus has had a Sub-Forum twice as long as Tyler, and Lubbock for that matter, so LIKELY, if Tyler had been on here for as long, approximately the same number of posts, views would be listed for Tyler.

But of course that is not a lot of activity either. Most people can now find what they want on Tyler buy just looking at the recent history, because it DOES have it's on sub-forum. There was enough activity in the general Texas section, same questions being asked over and over, that the moderators created a Sub for Lubbock and Tyler about 6 years ago, so people could view those repeated question in those sub-forums, it sorta "cleaned-up" the clutter in the Texas general section.

Update: I knew this felt like an all to often response by me. I checked, since this thread started 10-18-18 this is my third response, in less than five months, I know all too much about creation first hand of sub-forum, therefore my C.O.D. makes me respond. lol Enough already, at least from me.

Maybe if CD had a forum for the RGV it would get more posts? It works both ways and yes population SHOULD matter, more people, more posts. It's common sense or am I missing something here?

It doesn't work that way, and why would you attract more posts? Corpus has nearly three times, 300% more population than Tyler, if Tyler would have been on CD since inception, creation, Tyler would likely have as much activity as Corpus. Just asking, thanks.
