A while back a thread was started about voting for a new Texas Plate.. I was looking at the old plates and found some that I thought were really cool. Does anyone have a special plate on their car or truck? What about words,, anything cool you have seen on a plate?

For My El Paso Buddies...

I think this is the one I will go with..

Default Specialty license plates--my favorite

Well, the website is not cooperating with showing me images but my favorite is the urban forestry design. It reads "Texas trees" and has a nice picture of a large (oak?) tree on the lefthand side. I love Texas and I love her trees. I also like the conservation one featuring the horny toad but it's so common these days.

I like that bottom one, the native texan. I used to have the bluebonnet Keep Texas Wild plate but then I got a new car. I'm going to get another specialized plate next time I renew.

A little off topic, but I read recently that Texas is the state with the fewest percentage of vanity plates. (IIRC Virginia was #1 with the most.) I wonder what contributes to this...the cost?

My vanity Plate in Mississippi was 34 bucks I think.. it was not more maybe less. in Texas its 70 dollars. In Idaho, it was 24-27 dollars.. so I think Cost has a lot to do with it.

I know this is an old thread ( I didn't want to create a new one while this one already exists )

However...

Am I the only one...

That doesn't care for the new license plates vs. the old ones ?

I LOVE the new plate...shows the beautiful TX blue skies with a single lonestar and the hill country below! I thought the old plates were too busy.

honestly, it reminds me too much of the current Tennessee license plate..

I don't understand states obsessions with putting pictures on license plates, atleast Texas and Tennessee didn't go the way of PA, FL, and GA and add the states website on the tag..

I know what you mean. I'd think the LEOs would be pushing harder to keep the plates easy to read. Background pictures make them harder to read, especially at a distance. Considering that the purpose of plates is to identify vehicles, it's a shame that the new designs, like this one in the state I used to live in, detract from that purpose.
