Since Dallas is one of the shopping and fashion cities. Are there any designer showrooms for any of these brands located in Dallas.

Not for any major brands. Those are all in NYC or Europe.

The Dallas Apparel Mart is a big regional draw for small, independently owned stores. The "biggest" brands that have representation in Dallas are in the contemporary market like denim and tshirt lines.

It looks like with its next expansion, which will include outside open air retail, that NorthPark Center will be in more direct competition with Highland Park Village. Such retail would better offer its luxury customers seclusive space from the mall.

What plans have you heard of from a Northpark expansion? I haven't seen anything recently mentioning an expansion.

I was reading about the plans in the local urban forum of Dallas. A fellow was speaking of their plans on attracting a Bloomingdales. The conversation kind of fell below the conscience. I realised lately the significance of the open air retail and its ability to offer shoppers seclusive access apart from the mall. Genius. Exactly what they need to do.

They're building an open air retail section on top of the old wings complete with trees and walk paths, just like Highline in New York City.

Thanks for that info. I don't know what to think about this. NorthPark doesn't need any more luxury stores to be the best. When Highland Park Village was built, the intensions were to build a masterpiece shopping center and not a center of luxury. The first begats the second and not the other way around. The idea shouldn't be to bow down to the gimmicks that attract luxury stores, but to add development that maintains the original integrity of the masterpiece.

NorthPark Center has done an incredible job at this considering how it has expanded to two milliion square feet.
