I always get the discount. Me and Jab are smooth....

I hear all of you about the card. It is annoying.

I used to work at a Publix for extra money when Lauren was little. They are extremely clean. And the subs are great compared to anywhere else. I keep waiting for a Publix here so I can finally get a good sub.

I usually shop at the Fountain City Kroger. It has become a Fountain City experience, much like the park. Extremely enjoyable. Everyone is friendly. And I now know all the staff. I get stuff ordered from the butcher. I started them stocking veal. All of the veggies are top-notch.

But I've been to other Kroger's that were not as nice.

Can we not do that ourselves? Or, if that's how you want the meat, can you not ask the butcher to do it for you? I kept hearing the Pork industry lamenting (last year) that people were buying less pork due to the erroneous assumption that it was related to swine flu. I wanted to contact them and say, ""No, we're buying less because the butchers make it unappealing to cook/barbecue/fry/bake the pork." This has only happened within the last 2 years with all of the meat.

I'm also noticing less well-stocked shelves in Food City. Not sure if that's the manager's fault or it's Food City wide.
The Public's here leaves the fat on ! But hides it on the underside..they cut the fat on a diagonal leaving the thicker side of the fat facing down..

The shopping cards are for the stores inventory.. they can see High ~ Low sales on a graph day to day and week to week.. and buy accordingly.. and you the customer is helping..

No, the bar codes on the products keep track of the inventory, not the shopping cards. The shopping cards keep track of what each person buys so they can print coupons accordingly.

Wal-Mart, which probably has the most efficient system of inventorying and stocking, doesn't use those ridiculous shopping cards. Neither does Publix.

And hik, I agree with you about the Kroger in Fountain City. Not only is it a beautiful store, but all of the employees have been super friendly. It's almost as good as going to a Publix. Almost.

Yeah, so far. Just wait until the feds buy the storecards' databases and match your food purchases with your healthcare records in the national healthcare database.

Yep. Get some Publix subs in there and then, just maybe.

But the shoppers in that Kroger are mostly from the Fountain City/North area and you can't beat that. Unless we get a Publix there.

I get with some friends who also have Kroger cards and every few months we swap cards just to mess with the Kroger database. That's about as rebelious as I get these days.

For whatever it's worth, Food City uses the same label as PBX on the 93/7 lean ground beef. Is it the same beef? Wish I knew the answer. I much prefer this meat to any at Kroger or WMT.
