Transplant from Europe. Moved to Tampa in July 2009. I don't mind the heat. Much better than dealing with freezing rain, snow, dangerous driving, depressing overcast skies and snow.

Did I mention that it was better than snow?

You can have all of that.....

Variety is the spice of life. Must be fun for a kid here to go trick or treating in a costume in 85 degree heat.

People were doing cartwheels when it cooled off a few weeks ago.

I don't like cold weather, but 90 degrees plus humidity gets old after months on end.

I have no problem with the heat - its the humidity. didn't like it last night, 90 I'll take any day - humidity? no thanks no like it was yesterday.

either way I'll take it over 30 and rain, wind chill temps, forever overcast sky, crap stuck all over my car, and all the other muck that comes with up north.

I moved here in August '09. I prefer less humidity; but who cares, it's nice and toasty here. I feel alive. I can be outdoors as much as I want to be.
Back home - Long Island NY - the cold wore me down.

These are some of the wintry things I do not miss:
sleet, icy roads, icy sidewalks, slush
shoveling and salting icy sidewalks
icy driveways
rock salt that always gets tracked into the house and wrecks the floors
aching, stiff joints
fear of falling on icy pavement
indoor heating - Sahara like dryness from heating up the house.
Not being able to enjoy the outdoors thus getting less sunshine which affects one's mood.

It's all stuff for a hardier person than I. Also when it was freezing and humid the chill gets in your bones and nothing helps that.

So, yeah I love it here. I'm going to go drive with the top down today.

I live a couple minutes from the beach, I can bike there. I think I went to the beach twice last summer. To be honest it just feels better in my apartment with the AC aimed on me. I really don't like sweating at all. It will be nice to get out a little this winter. Hopefully!

It's absolutely beautiful here today. It never fails to amaze me how so many people complain about everything. Just get out and enjoy!

I'm acclimated to the heat. I can understand people who rarely get away from their precious air conditoning (car, home, mall) to hate the heat. But for the people who are active, ie play sports and get out and stay outside, the temps aren't a problem and appreciated. I know Germans back where I lived who'd love to lay out on the beach in FLA rather being stuck inside their homes w/ the heater on.

It's has been a lovely day for even just walking the dog. Warm but not excessive. Cool enough at night now to sleep with the windows open and the AC off. No complaints here.

in all the lists from us Northern Transplants I did notice one thing missing that we definitely do not need to experience any more - Black Ice.
