I am looking for a Thai place near Brandon/Riverview that is good. I tried Lemongrass and was not impressed.

I'm not really a Thai fan, but I do like Nitally's, which is a Thai-Mexican fusion place on Central around 25th. Not sure if that helps the immediate craving...

For dining I highly recommend consulting YELP.

Thai Island is supposedly the best in Tampa Bay, but I have not been there.

If you KNOW and love Thai food, Bangkok 9 (horrible food) and Nitally's (horrible service, non-authentic Thai food) will be major letdowns.

Also, any place that serves sushi usually has substandard Thai. In my experience the best, most authentic Thai places serve Thai, and that's it. And that makes perfect sense.

Thai Island - Tampa, FL

We're pretty new to the city as well so we haven't visited many, but we enjoyed Thai Samurai near the new Trinity Medical Center.

I HIGHLY recommend Chai Yo Thai on Boyette Rd in Riverview in the Publix Shopping Center!

Anything near Lutz? We tried Jasmine Thai in Dale Mabry and were not impressed.

Lilacmama, we also did not think much of Lemongrass in Riverview.

I have been to Thailand twice so I'm familiar with the food.
There is a place (I think it's called Bangkok Sushi) In the plaza right near the veterans expressway, also with the carraba's and a mexican restaurant in the same plaza. It's really good.
I agree that sushi is generally not a good sign in a Thai place.
