We keep getting Olive Garden gift cards from family as gifts. This is not a surprise really, because I'm fairly sure they're just re-gifting the ones we give to them. Anyway I understand that these cards can also be used at Capital Grille since they are all part of the Darden group.

Can anyone characterize Capital Grille for me? From what I have read it sounds sort of like a Ruth's Chris- but is it more expensive or less expensive on the average? Also, what is the minimum dress and the typical dress you'll see on an average night?

TIA

Yum. We like it a lot.

Price to me seems about the same as Charlies/Ruths. Less than Burns. Personally, I've never understood the fascination with Burns.

It's typically business dress, but there are exceptions. Not sure if you can wear shorts but jeans and a shirt ok.

OK, thanks- I think we will definitely try it.

Yes, there are a lot of people that love Burns, and there are plenty that will dis Ruths. (I know Ruths is a chain but that doesn't automatically make the food bad.) I personally prefer Ruths over Burns or Council Oak in the Hard Rock casino. Haven't ever tried Charlies.

Steakhouses are a hard sell for me actually. I can get 4 filets at Costco (~ $25 for the package) and put them on the Weber @ 600-700 degrees and they come out pretty darn good... light years better than lower end places like Outback and in my opinion rivaling some of the joints that charge $40 al la carte for a filet. I don't know much about the classification system for beef but in my opinion Costco beef blows away what Publix sells.

But, sometimes it is nice to sit back and let someone else do the cooking. And anyway, it sounds like our $50 gift card ought to almost cover the tip at Capital!!!

Heh

I agree on the grilling.

Out of the bunch of them I prefer Capitol, but the calamari at Charlies is unmatched.

Have you tried the beef a Fresh Market? The filets and lamb shanks are reaaaaaaly nice. I like Sams and Costco too.

Capital Grill is great. 50 will cover appitizers and drinks, if you are conservative drinkers. I'll spend $50 on drinks at happy hour at CG.

Conservative drinkers can leave CG spending about 80 bucks. 2 glasses of wine a peice I am thinking.
