Just looking for advice on the best apartments in the Liverpool area. My husband and I are moving to Liverpool from TN in May. We are going to make a quick trip up there in March to look for a place to live. We would like to stay in the Liverpool area, but aren't too sure what the best areas are. We would like to keep the rent under $800, would like to have some utilities included, and we have a dog. Any help is appreciated

Stay away from all the apartments back behind the Gold's Gym - they're between Morgan Rd and Rt 57 (Oswego Rd)

Thanks for the replies! We actually have a list narrowed down, and would like to hear any info, good or bad. The ones we are looking into are: Westminster Place, Charter Oaks, Breckenridge, Ridgewood, Maplewood, and Franklin Park.

NO to Westminster. I lived there and hated it - couldn't wait till my lease was up!

There was another recent thread from someone else trying to get out of there as well - Quiet Apt's in CNY?

Also NO to Breckenridge - that is located in the area behind Gold's gym... stay away!

Ridgewood would not be a very good option. Apartments are very noisy. Thin walls, which means you will always hear your neighbors, no matter how quiet they are (and most are not quiet). Had a short term lease there and was counting the days when we could leave. As an alternative check out Baldwinsville's Radisson apartments. Drumlin Heights and Centerpointe are very nice and about a 10 min drive to Liverpool. Radisson Community Association, Inc - Housing Options

Good options, as I believe the OP has family in Oswego County.

Another area that may work is the Kimbrook area off of Route 57. It is south of Route 31 and north/west of Gaskin Road. There are some apartments in that area. Eventhough it is in Clay, it is in the Baldwinsville SD and has a B'ville zip code. It is close to shopping and Route 481. http://www.benchmarkgrp.com/kimbrook

We actually fell in love with Centerpointe just by looking online and at the ad in Apartment Guide...BUT, we have a dog and when I called the office to ask what the pet deposit was....$1500! All due up front
