Hi,

Yes, another "where should I move to" thread.

Me - 45, divorced, teenage son that visits. Will be working in Chesterfield, so commuting to-from every day.

I am interested in living somewhere that I can walk to activities, restaurants, etc. Weekends could be spent wandering the area vs. driving to-and-fro. From my limited research, CWE seems to fit.

Any specific buildings that you can name would be appreciated. Price-wise, it would be great to stay under $1000. One caveat, it would be nice not to be totally overwhelmed with college students at all times.

Thanks.

There are so many apartments in the central west end. It's kind of difficult to name specific buildings because there are so many! The best way to search is just to look at Craigslist, in my opinion.

There are a lot of 20somethings and grad students in the CWE, just a heads up. Some undergrads too since the area is so close to SLU.

If he does CWE, then that's going to be a slightly longer commute. As long as the OP is aware of that and OK with it, then I say CWE would be your best choice. The Loop is another possibility, but it would be about the same amount of time commute wise and you would be around a lot more college kids there. Then again, CWE is the same situation.

Downtown lofts have a lot of empty nesters. That may be another place to look.
Good Luck!
