Going to a baseball game, 2 kids, 2 adults. Need a hotel by the metro. In the past we've driven to an airport hotel and caught a shuttle to a metro station.

As an alternative...how do the park and rides work? Is it safe to leave a minivan by the metro stop if I were to instead just drive to a metro stop? Are there any of them that I'd want to specifically avoid? Some safer than others?

The Brentwood stop has a very safe and large garage. It's also free parking. Clayton has a park and ride garage, but you have to pay to park.

The airport hotel is probably best if looking for the cheapest option. There's a few hotels in Clayton close to the stop, but they're pricey and I think you have to pay to park in their garage, just like downtown. A new hotel just opened near the Richmond Heights stop, I think it's a Hilton of some sort. Not sure on parking there.

Very cool. Thanks. I'll check out hotels near Brentwood. There's no issues with pulling in on a Friday/Saturday afternoon and parking? Do I need to worry about it ever filling up?

I wouldn't think so. It's a 10 story garage, and even on Mardi Gras, when the MetroLink is packed, there was still plenty of space.

Do realize that most of not all of the airport hotels charge for parking.

I would find a place off-airport with a hotel shuttle and use that to get to the airport and the Metrolink.

That is what I would do. The Hilton Ballpark is next door to the stadium.
