Has anyone been in the refurbished Cheshire Hotel in Clayton? I cannot make heads or tails of their web site but was wondering about the tavern and what kind of meals they have. And is it horribly expensive?

It's medium in price. I haven't been so I can't speak to the quality. Here's their menu:

My brother stayed there a week or two ago with his wife when they decided to do a staycation date night. They liked the room and they have very high standards.

Good. That's what I wanted to hear. Did they eat there? The regular restaurant is not yet open but the tavern is and some of those serve excellent meals. I just didn't want to be handed a $90 bill for one piece of fish and two strips of asparagus (plus a drink) as I was when I took a friend to another restaurant. $90 for two people and that's all we ate, each of us.

No, they ate in downtown clayton and then went back to the hotel where a chilled bottle of bubbly and a 6 pack of their favorite brew was waiting for them on the heated patio. Beware, the average age at the cheshire bar is approx 60yrs old so they walked over to Par Lounge for a round.

I thank you again but, for some reason, my computer (or a gofod gremlin) will not let me in there. Surely would like to know what kind of meals they have but I guess I'll pass.

You all have a nice Christmas Day. Hazel

I truly do not know but the computer man was here about a month ago and is supposed to have updated everything. If I loved mysteries, computers would be my first love. I do not try to deal with their innards.
