I work at near the Limbergh/270 intersection and in the year I've worked there, we've have someone get shot right outside my work (one or both of the people worked at same place as me). Safe? lol Well maybe safer than East St. Louis.

That isn't south county, it is north. Limburgh and I-270 intersection is in Hazelwood.

Hazelwood is a dump. Kids get beaten up on school buses there and I regularly hear of parents who moved because they didn't feel their kids were safe there. As far as an adult with no children, living there, I guess that would be OK if you don't mind living around the poor. Personally, I wouldn't live there if you gave me the house for free and paid the taxes for life.

Lindbergh Boulevard's southern terminus is at I-255 (multiplexed exit for Lemay Ferry/Lindbergh), not I-270. Going northbound, I-255 becomes I-270 after it passed the Lemay Ferry overpass and before the I-55 interchange.

From friends & family members that live in these surrounding areas.... times are rough. Crime is higher than ever. Everyone has to be smart...lock all your doors, be aware of your surrondings.
Personally...I wouldn't live in these areas, but I wouldn't live anywhere in StL (area) Speaking of the county. I know nothing about the StL city area, never cared to go there.
Your best best bet is to do some research ...go to the police dept's & talk to the cops. I know that sounds weird, but they will be honest. Whereas the council people of that area want you to move there (more taxe revenue). Ask around, you'll get a feel for it when you are actually there.

Good Luck !!!
