Thank you so much aragx6 for your help.
What would be nice, if we could find a house with yard around a off-leash park and where we can ride our bikes to it (like 10-20 min.) That would be awesome. There is Lister Dog Park, Central West End Dog Park, John and Lucille Wendling Soulard Dog Park, Watertower Dog Park at Compton Hill Reservoir Park, Southwest City Dog Park at Willmore Park and Taylor Dog Park.
Are any of this areas for us affordable?

I'd probably avoid that place posted in St. Ann. Those are located behind the airport parking lot, some of them are used as crashpads for pilots/flight attendants (eh, ok ish...but lots of transients). Along with some section 8 stuff. There are single family homes South of St. Charles Rock Rd which would probably be better suited to your tastes, with significantly less crime. Would also be willing to recommend Overland and some of St. John as well as they're similarly priced. I've got a friend in St. John who's trying to sell his house now, appx 100k. Don't know how much he'd rent it for, but it'd probably be in the 600-700 range (give or take a few dollars).

As to dog parks, the only one i've ever stopped by is in St. Charles County, just south of I-370. There should be NUMEROUS two bedroom homes very close to that park (it's in the Frenchtown area) and East of 3rd Street. I'd have to imagine the price point is very very similar to what you're looking for. A tad further Southwest into St. Charles (North of I-70, West of Kingshighway) could probably land you something else similar...might even find a home with some historic charm, and interesting architecture too.

PS- I kinda like these two...they're in Overland, top of your budget i think but look alright. I know this area a tad better, can't find the second house on street view, but drive past the first one on my way home from work...occasional property crime, nothing major that i'm aware of at either locale.

St. Louis is a unique city, in that there are 92 municapalities (sp) throughout the general area of St. Louis County. The result is you've got numerous city halls, all who create their own city rules. What flies in one city might be illegal in the next, and so on. Your best bet would be to narrow down a location you like, and then get in touch with the different city halls to ask any questions you have. Local law enforcement can probably guide you in the right direction. The cheaper places throughout St. Louis County (if you're looking at a map) will be North County and South County, plus places that are outside of St. Louis County entirely (Jefferson/Franklin Counties). St. Charles County can also be pretty affordable, and the further from town you get, the cheaper the prices are.

Depending on what type of truck driver your husband is, location away from the city might not affect his day to day job functions, and if you're working out of the house it'll be even more true. Just note that the further away from town you are, the less services you'll have and in many instances the convinence factors can go down because of it. Luckily, the government regulations also are normally a little less stringent, and yo might have more space to allow for your business without offending neighbors.
The thing is that I would most likely work/volunteer for a animal shelter/animal organization first and than more like one-on-one training. So I won't have a bunch of dogs at my house. I do want to foster dogs too, but one at a time (and train them to get adopted). Thinks like that. My husband Joe is working for Schneider at the moment, but want to look for a truck company that does deliveries so he can be home every night. So we do need to live in town or suburb.
What I have read and seen on pictures of St. Louis I really like, especially while it also has a lot to offer for a dog person. Also that you don't have to go to far to go for hikes around St. Louis as far as I could find out. I was looking also at Kansas City, MO, and I really also like what it has to offer, but nothing much around it where you can go for hikes.

Do you know the name of the dog park? Than it would be easier for me to find the area you are talking about.
