Two stories over the weekend, one good the other a crime.
Fowler wins the Scottish Open an event he likely never thought of ever winning a few years ago.
Tom Gillis loosing to Spieth in the John Deere. Gillis has played since 1993 and never won a PGA event according to the announcers. Jordan if you look at the replay of his par putt on the 72nd hole from maybe a foot, the whole ball just slipped into the right half of the hole. He goes on to win the playoff. Spieth has an unbelievable career ahead of him and it was a crime to see Gillis almost age 47 to come away without the win. Everyone including Jordan should have been hoping Tom won.
On to the British Open where Tiger is the 5th favorite behind Spieth, D. Johnson, A. Scott, and Oosthuizen.
Tiger's odds to win are better than Rose, Fowler, and Mickelson.

OUCH! I felt badly for Gillis when he sliced left into the water! He certainly had a good shot at winning, especially after he and Spieth were tied at 4 in that first Sudden Death action on 18! Congrats to Spieth.
Gillis still qualified for the Open Championship with his finish so that's one heck of a consolation prize. Once again an amazing effort by Jordan Speith.... comes out on Thursday and shoots Even-Par and is way off to pace then to all of a sudden shoot 20-under the last 3 rounds to win. This kid is a superstar that's for sure....
The Open should be a blast....
Oh and big congrats to Rickie Fowler for winning the Scottish open.... not a bad weekend for the 20-somethings. Fowler has played very will in recent years at the Open... he should contend for sure.
Looks like another loss for Trump. He should have kept his mouth shut when he complained about Pinehurst last year. USGA likes Pinehurst and if you're trying to get a major on one of your courses, better stop being a crybaby.

There are now questions as to whether Turnberry will be dropped from The Open rotation due to Trump's recent comments about Mexicans.
I don't think that should be the reason though. A bit too PC for me. But I'd be fine with a ban on Trump-owned courses due to what Trump did to destroy a piece of Scotland while building his golf course in Aberdeenshire (covered in the documentary, "You've Been Trumped"). The guy is just a bully with money.
Tiger should consider skipping the British Open. The landscape and weather over there will have few safe places for the ball to land to stay out of trouble. If he could not manage Chambers Bay with perfect weather and no pot bunkers, St. Andrews could be a missed cut.

Yes, that's an entirely different person then the one that we're seeing today. But seriously...
Tiger better find some magic.
He's 5 over after only 12 holes.
Maybe Woods can refer to one of Fowler's previous Open's when Rickie slipped into the cut with a 79-67.

That's just absolute hilarious. Tiger has performed like absolute dog $hit and he's still somehow managing better odds than Rose or Fowler?
Naysayers are always abound. We did not post the site that had those odds but we can next time. The event has started so the odds on that specific site are gone. They have been replaced with odds to win after today's round.
These odds are as of yesterday and they changed as the days went by:

shouldn't be any surprise at all on Tiger, odds aren't based on who the better player is, but who the run-of-the mill, idiot degenerate gambler will likely bet on
