Interesting interview - looks like this is officially the end of the Tiger era. It can be said that had already happened... but the fact that he won a major two years ago made it debatable.

https://www.golfdigest.com/story/tig...sive-interview

He pretty much played a "limited" schedule his entire career relative to others. But this will cut that down even more.

Woods recently said he would no longer compete for majors. Many majors have been won by hanging around even par or a small few under. He doesn't need 8-10-15 under to win a major.

Woods looks like he has gained some weight in his face and upper arms.

Is anyone else watching Charlie Woods at the PNC Championship? This kid is amazing! 12 years old and a better game than most grown men could ever dream of!

We will be seeing lots more of him.

Yup - got a kick seeing how much his mannerisms are like his dad's.

He'd doing well among his age group too on the Jr. tour. Just hope the pressure of his namesake doesn't become too hard to handle.

I saw some photos of his son and they project someone who knows who his father is and has seen that he (the son) can play competitive golf. I hope he don't not act and treat people the way he projected in these photos. I'll post one if anyone likes.

Dustin Johnson ………. What’s his deal ? Since he won the Masters in 11/20 he hasn’t done a thing . His best finish in the last 15 months is a T6 . I don’t think he cares anymore . He has played one tournament since the beginning of the wrap around season . He’s not playing next week . Is he just waiting to cash in on the “ Middle East “ Tour ? My feeling is he doesn’t make it to East Lake this season . And no , don’t want hear about the Ryder Cup , totally different animal .

Most top golfers don't play many of the end of year stuff. Back when it was Jan-Dec, all the tournaments after the majors were considered the "silly season". With the playoffs, most take a break after the FedEx.

He didn't qualify for the TOC. If you look at the other top golfers, most have only played in 3 or so this season. So him only playing in only one so far doesn't seem to be unusual.

As for his drought.... that's just golf. Spieth didn't win for 3 years, Phil had a few no win seasons, and even Tiger had his droughts (albeit he rarely had winless seasons unless you count the post affair/surgery years). Certainly if you look at his body of work as a whole, he's certainly underperformed... but that's also obviously subjective. He is one of the few golfers that has a lifetime exemption on tour once he reaches his 15th year (if needed).

RIP Bob Goalby who passed away this week.
I have a color slide of Bob from the 1970 Kemper Open.

Wow. Admittedly, the name is foreign to me (he wasn't active in my lifetime). Had to Google him to find out he won the 68 Masters after De Vicenzo's "What a stupid I am!" gaffe.

You hear about Roberto's mistake all the time... but they often don't talk about the person that won it.

RIP.

DJ with an awesome 73 today . Good enough for a T25 and moving up to #173 in FedEx points . Oh well , off to the Middle East . He’ll probably make enough money to keep Paulina in bikinis and nose candy for a while .
