Kyrgios/Djokovic, this will be good. Kyrgios has a 2-0 lead in the head-to-head, but I don't see him beating Novak in this one. Let's see if he can keep his composure.
Kyrgios' big serve kept in the match, but he only pressured Novak's serve once after the first set.......and blew the 3 or 4 break points down 4-5 in 3rd set. Djokovic looked composed, not flustered in the least by Nikos' constant negativity and pouting.

So glad that Novak won. Husband has been watching the replay with the grandkids, who all play tennis. One kept saying that his dad thinks Kyrgios is an idiot! Might be a good player but terrible example of behaviour. Quite unpopular here, whereas we were gutted when Ash Barty retired.

Kyrgios was complaining that he doesn't get any fan support in Australia.
Even married to a Greek and with Greek kids, we couldn't find a way to cheer for the guy either. Positive and negative plays alike result in the same sad-sack face, like the dude doesn't want these skills, doesn't want to play these matches, wishes he was somewhere else. I get it, not everyone likes the talents they were given, but Nikos sucked the joy out of the entire experience. It wasn't even "fun" to watch him lose because he had given up on himself while still ahead in the match.

Dunno whether Nick had given up, or was simply outplayed.
In any event Nick is a multi millionaire out of tennis.
He does like playing other sports, like basketball, but probably is not at the level needed to play in the big leagues, and/ or make a living out of that sport.
He really should be grateful for his tennis skills.
His huge serve alone, is a sight to behold, and can take the racket out of the hand of any player.

I've seen Kyrgios play basketball.
He wouldn't even be good enough to play high school basketball, let alone in a professional league.
He's nowhere near athletic enough to play the guard position (which you have to be, when you can't shoot), and he's nowhere near tall enough to play a forward position.
And he's got no shooting ability, plus would never make it onto the court, because his defense would be too much of a liability.
And in tennis, the problem for Krygios, is no matter how hard he tries, he's not talented enough to consistently shorten the points vs. Djokovic and Nadal in best-of-5-sets, unless of course they aren't playing great, which may happen in the early rounds of a slam.
But in a grand slam final, no chance of beating Djokovic or Nadal, because Kyrgios can't shorten the points, especially on those vital break points or tiebreakers when Kyrgios' risk-taking is much harder to pull-off.
After beating Nadal at 2014 Wimbledon, Kyrgios has lost 5 tiebreakers in a row in that rivalry, including 2 at Wimbledon 2019 and 2 at AO 2020, as Nadal leads their slam H2H 2-1 and 6-3 overall H2H.
And when he doesn't shorten the points, he can't win with defense and retrieving, because his racquet skills are nowhere near good enough when on-the-run and stretched out wide. Nadal especially is on a far higher plane of talent than Kyrgios, when playing defense and is easily able to turn defense into offense in the blink of an eye.
