According to all my reading and research, and contacting the National Bison Association, we should be able to have between 15-20 head. It's basically 1 animal for every 2 acres, or 1 bison to 2 cattle. We are definately not starting out with that many, lol. I took Ag in high school and FFA and 4-H, and of course we were never told anything about bison, lol.
