So you went from 'heard' it is a bit snobby to full on defending that it is snobby.....lol

I moved here in 2010 and have met people from all over the area.

Haven't met any more snobs from Mt. Pleasant than from other areas.

Have you met people from Mt. Pleasant and are they snobs?

Yeah housing is more expensive --closer to the peninsula, beaches, shopping etc. So that happens.....demand raises prices. It doesn't mean that everyone who buys in Mt. Pleasant is a snob.

I'm pretty down to earth and have no time for people's bull.....and I haven't found Mt. Pleasant to be snobby at all -- have only been living IN Mt. Pleasant for 10 years....so maybe I need more exposure ---- lol.

I lived in Old Mt Pleasant for a decade. You can still find a cute simple home there, but land value over there has skyrocketed as investors are gobbling up every simple house they can find and tearing them down to build bigger and badder. Old Mt Pleasant still has plenty of smaller homes compared to Old Village and you will find a wide range of folks from different backgrounds, occupations, lifestyles, etc.

Positives, close to the beach and creeks, shopping is close, walkable neighborhood. Cons, traffic, construction is constantly going on around you, traffic, oh and traffic.

I lived in MTP from 2000 to 2010. With few exceptions, I was never impressed with "Old MTP". Yes, a few beautiful, bigger, old homes, but the majority in need of massive "updating" on small lots.

As a liker of "new construction", I bought in Rivertowne but upon on 2nd consideration, I wish I had had given Snee Farm more consideration. The local MTP joke was: The first think you do upon moving into Snee Farm was hire a dumpster. Might still be true but, location, location, location....

As a compromise between Rivertowne and Snee Farm, there's always Brickyard.
