Relo to Mt Pleasant or Summerville (Charleston: tornadoes, live, vs.)

Hi-

I am considering a move from Seattle to Mt. Pleasant or Summerville. Have lived on the West Coast all my life. (So Cal before Seattle) Can someone tell me if they have moved down there from west coast, how you like it?. Adjusted to climate, and local wildlife. Do you get tornadoes? Are the bugs really bad?
I am tired of the grey days in Seattle, so looking forward to sunshine. Are the summers really hot?
