I just read that the Spurs haven’t drawn more than 45,000 since December 5. 15,000+ empty seats in EPL matches. I’d always assumed it was an impossible ticket for any of the top teams. Is this a COVID-19 thing or is it easier than I thought to get tickets to EPL games?

I guess it really is impacting. Last time I was over, tickets almost never went general sale. Usually only members and sometimes members could buy guests. Have not checked, but am surprised Covid would impact it that much. Then again, the Spurs decisions the last 2 years likely have angered some fans, so that may impact as well. Crazy times with Covid for sure.

I doubt it's due to COVID....even if the Spurs were losing and Kane was playing to his full potential, people would pay to see him.

Did Newcastle buy their way out of relegation? I don’t see where the goals come from. Wood is unlikely to add many. If Everton wins tomorrow, I don’t see any points for Newcastle in February or March.

For some reason, the English media loves to hate on Spurs and frame things in the worst possible way. Spurs are averaging 56K per week - 4th highest in the Prem. Only Man U, Arsenal, and West Ham were higher. They've drawn more that Liverpool and Man City. One match was a weekday cup semi-final against Chelsea down 2 goals from the away leg. The other was an FA Cup match against a lower division side. A few were in the period of congested holiday fixtures.

They drew 54k to the FA Cup match this past weekend. Spurs attendance is just fine. By comparison, the old White Hart Lane held 32k. In the old Lane, you couldn't get a ticket.

When were you over? Before the new stadium? They went from a 32K stadium to a 62K. Some of the reason for the extra size is NFL games. Average attendance is up 12k in the new stadium.

I have been since the new stadium, which I hate, but love that more tickets are available. When I lived in London, went to The Lane many times. I got to Wembly once a few years back during construction. So glad they did not take the offer to make that their home pitch.

So…. Not to beat a dead cat but…. LOL

Trippier looked really good yesterday. At the level of Saint-Maximin. Everton looks like a relegation team. Newcastle looks to have spent their Saudi money out of relegation. What’s the history of Pickford at Newcastle? He got booed any time he touched the ball.

I’m new to English Football and wasn’t aware of that rivalry. Pickford was backup GK the year they were relegated and played a lot of matches because their primary GK was injured. Then summer transfer to Everton as Sunderland imploded. Would any former Sunderland academy player get booed?
