Where on the eastside can you get the best views of Mt. Ranier when she is out? I want to get some good pics of her without going too far unless I have to.

thanks!!

I see it every morning on the way to work on my left and on my right on the way home, from I90. Hard to take pictures at 60 mph though. There are many places on the east side where you can see it, but you have to wait for a clear day. You can see it from the Issaquah end of East Lake Sammamish Parkway, the Golf Club at Newcastle, The Hyatt Regency Bellevue (upper floors), many of the hills in Bellevue like Summit around SE 54th and 156th Ave SE, and in Renton. The best though, in order to see the lower parts, are in Black Diamond, Enumclaw area. The Black Diamond Bakery has one of the best views, if it's still there.

The Black Diamond Bakery is still there. The views of Rainier are still there. And the pies are awesome. That strawberry rhubarb pie is insanely good.
But is Black Diamond considered the eastside?

Good suggestions so far.

My advice would be to take the trip to Black Diamond Bakery. Have lunch there and take some photos of the mountain. They have terrific sandwiches too.

The reason I would suggest going down to either Black Diamond, Enumclaw, or other places in the river valleys of south King and north Pierce counties is that Mt. Rainier is even more spectacular when viewed from these places than in the Seattle metro area. More of the mountain can be seen and you'll be closer to it.

I was in downtown Sumner not too long ago and was jolted by the magnificence of Rainier from that location. As you know, a crystal clear view of the mountain can iffy but if you can get away on a clear day, it's worth the drive to go a little further south in my opinion.

I know it's totally off-topic, but did you really say there is a place that has insanely good strawberry-rhubarb pie?! O. M. G. Is it seasonal only ('cause I can make my own from frozen. Bleh)?

Thanks! We went there today and it was a great view. That place needs a makeover but the views were amazing!
