Oh, I'd say you'd need far more than half an hour to do Vashon. There's the stores and art galleries, a vegetarian restaurant, a vegan restaurant, a great bakery, a fabulous coffee roastery, a tofu manufacturer, and an independent movie theatre. Plus: Just getting there is half the fun. It's not the destination, it's the trip.
Your dad would fit right in. Vashon's full of balding men with gray ponytails, and the two women's hairstyles are short gray hair and long gray hair. I like Vashon.
