I was just wondering if Seattle had any row houses. Here are some examples.

I haven't been to every corner of Seattle, so I'm not sure. Has anybody else seen any? Would you like to see them become more prevalent in Seattle? What are your feelings on them? I personally like them and think they add character.

No, although there are a few newer eastside condos that were built to look like them.

This is one of the biggest things I'm going to miss about DC. Pretty much all we have are rowhouses.

Nothing like the ones in the mid atlantic region in Seattle. We do have townhouse clusters, but they rarely all face the same direction (or any direction because they're jammed in so close to one another)

There aren't many places to build them in Seattle. You need rows and blocks all built together, which doesn't happen very often. Also, row houses aren't a very efficient use of the space.

All I see is tons of shared walls. Are those things as noisy as they look? (never lived in one, or anyplace they have them)

Seattle used to have some. I think the only row houses left are around the Central District/International District border:

I love the look of row houses, very neighborly. Somewhat similar, I like the historic Yesler Houses in the Central District which have been restored and converted to condominiums. Would be nice to see more of this in the city rather than bulldozing and replacement with an ultra-sleek modern. (I like both, but a mix is good. The older buildings have so much character and history.)

Tacoma definitely has some, but not a whole lot of it.
