Hi Seattle posters
I prefer openning a new thread so it's easier to read it and reach informations for those that need them

About rentals... can you give me the positives and the negatives points between : rent an apartment or rent a house ?

Knowing that it seems that apartments are differently managed in the US (you share commun spaces ; we don't do at all in France).

And I've noticed that apartments were more expensives... Am I right ?

THANK YOU

It's the opposite, single family home rentals are much more expensive than apartments. There are very few where common areas are shared, usually just a lobby/entrance and maybe roof deck or courtyard, and in luxury units, there may be a shared pool, spa, or exercise room.

Generally a rental house will have more need to contact the owner/manager for repairs as they are older, and the lease will require you to maintain the yard, which may include mowing the lawn. On the good side, they will have a garage or at least a driveway to park off the street, while most apartments in the city charge extra for parking if they have it at all.

Thanks Hemlock
In fact I thought (no laughs please) that all the building share pool or exercice room
And in fact, the prices were high (Now I get why !)
So it's not so different from here... always the question about how parking the car... everywhere
