As you can see by the responses so far, if it's a clear day, there are multiple places in the city where you'll have a gorgeous view of Mt. Rainier.

If you are going to be in the area of the U of W campus, looking toward the southeast from Drumheller Fountain (Frosh Pond) gives a perfect alignment to the mountain as the area was purposely designed to line up with Mt. Rainier.

This one is going to sound strange but one of my favorite views of the mountain has always been looking straight down Rainier Avenue in the vicinity of S. Jackson Street to a bit past Dearborn Street (I-90 area). I remember looking at the mountain as a little kid from that location and thinking it was the top of a giant ice cream cone for some reason. It just strangely stands out so boldly from there.

I wholeheartedly agree with UW Campus and Kerry Park (on a clear day, of course).
