Hi everyone,
I've read on here quite a bit about neighborhoods, but I still would like your advice if you have an opinion. We just moved to Seattle recently, and are deciding between houses in Seattle, Kirkland, Brier, and Kenmore.
The house in Seattle is what I'd like opinions on-- I have read quite a bit about Northgate, Lake city, Maple Leaf, Greenlake, etc.. but the particular house is sort of 'between' all of those areas. Specifically, it's West of I-5, above Green lake, west of Northgate, but below Shoreline. I'm not sure what to call it except that the nearest things are Licton Springs Park and Oak Tree Shopping Center. I've visited the house in daytime, nighttime, etc.. and while I know and can visually see that it's not as nice as Green Lake, Maple Leaf and others that usually have good reputations and low crime, I can't find anything about this particular area.
We're tempted by proximity but want to know if the neighborhood is more along the vibe of Brier, lake Forest Park and similar ones (I like the safer, family-friendly feel but don't want to go as far east to Redmond and such).
Opinions??? What about resale value versus Juanita area in Kirkland or Kenmore by Lake Washington??
Thanks for any help!!!

Sounds like it could be Greenwood. Further west, Crown Hill.

Those areas serviced by the Northshore school district and Lake Washington school district, both very good school districts. Research the schools and see how it ranks.

Sounds to me like you're talking about the Licton Springs neighborhood:
Licton Springs Neighborhood
In terms of resale value, that's hard to predict Kenmore vs Juanita vs Licton Springs. But it seems to me that homes in Juanita sell faster than those in Kenmore or Licton Springs.

I will tell you - we were too close to the freeway and it was a HARD sell to sell our house - we took 50K less then what we asked.

The neighborhood is "okay" we didn't have many families, and I disliked not having any sidewalks. Maple Leaf is a much nicer neighborhood.

If you have kids I'd say pick Kirkland - better schools and houses sell better.
