To use that speaker's own words, we anticipate "Contributions we can't predict".
If you can't predict it, how can you use it to justify the claim that "X" technology will exist by "Y" year?
Seems like a contradiction to me - if you can't predict something, then, by definition, you can't say what will happen when, since "to predict" just is to say what will happen and when it will happen.
I do not remember that statement. What time did he say and I will look at it.
Just checked it out (I also have read the book but it was like 6 months ago), I didn't hear "X" technology will exist by "Y" year anywhere.
No, but if you trace the paper trail (post trail?) you can see that Josseppie was trying to use it as a counter to my claim that such predictions were only coming from Kurzweil.
He is not talking about how information technology will advance with that statement, that is understood, but the impact of it and the 3 billion new people that it will bring in the economy. What will they bring to the economy and world?

Well that was completely unclear so you are on the wrong here, why / how could anyone imagine what you think about when making statements if you don't write it down?
Please keep to the topic, both the threads and in this case the post.

So? The impact of it on the world is within the scope of the discussion, particularly when it is application in biotech.

Context! Must I make my post show the nested replies like on some other forums?

Biotech is a form of information technology and can be predicted. However I will say that is a good reason why all the models break down at 2045 as by then we will be advancing so fast we can not predict it. Why its called the singularity.
