That area isn't terrible as far as El Cajon goes, but you will have some homeless people and crime issues along Bradley Avenue just north of you, and apartment complexes in El Cajon can sometimes have "issues" as I'm sure you know.

I'd suggest checking the crime stats for the surrounding area on crimemapping.com; be sure to reset the time as the system's default will only show you the last week - you can set it for up to six months and that will give you a pretty good idea whether there have been any crime reports for the complex and what crime looks like in the immediate area.

That address may actually be in unincorporated El Cajon, not the city of El Cajon. If so, you'd be dealing with the County Sheriff and not El Cajon police if any issues arise - there is a Sheriff substation in Santee. You may want to check on that just to be fully informed as a property manager.

Also, if you haven't already done so, double check with Grossmont High School ASAP that your son will still be able to attend next year using school choice. You'll probably have to fill out some paperwork to make that happen, as that area isn't Grossmont High's service area. Pay close attention to the deadlines for applying for school choice.
