Default Owl and other birds in Palm

I have just noticed an owl in palm flying out after sunset we also have a bunch of other small birds nesting in palm messy and often their young first flight into pool and do not swim yuk

5 yr old thread, but....we have some 120 various Palms on our property, with the bulk of them being King and queen Palms. No bugs..at least not anything to speak of. The owls and hawks love to pearch in them...peering down below at the many squirrels and rabbits they call dinner.

Yes, 5 year old thread, but a timeless topic I suppose. At last count we have something like 15 on our property including one stunning 50-year-old Canary Island Palm and 3 Kings. The rest are Washington aka Mexican Fan palms - and the 15 doesn't include the various baby palms that the Washingtons have sprinkled around . . . never had palms before, and I had no idea that particular breed was so prolific!

The previous owner had wrapped some sticky tape around one King, suggesting rats, but we have never seen them. All the palms are definitely owl hangouts, for the same dinner-related reasons ShelbyGirl talked about . . . it's like Wild Kingdom back there . . .
