I agree with the previous person who said it really depends on your interests.

If you are an outdoors type of person, you will love San Diego.

San Diego has very comfortable weather, all year round.

I lived on the east coast for a long time, and don't miss the weather one bit. No more bone-chilling 10-20 F degree weather! No need to wear heavy coats. No need to shovel snow! No more driving on icy roads!

San Diego feels like spring practically every day of the year. I can wear shorts all the time.

The only thing that sometimes bothers me about the sun in San Diego, is it is very strong. On the east coast, direct sunlight doesn't feel nearly as strong. In San Diego, direct sunlight at a single spot on your body for an extended period can make it feel like someone is holding a lit match near your skin. It is very intense heat.

I keep a huge supply of suntan lotion (SPF45) which I wear every time I go out for long periods (15 minutes or more) on sunny days. I wear it all year round.
