Hey I would really appreciate as much feedback possible. I'm considering a job in Oceanside and have friends in Pacific Beach and was curious about the commute from PB to Oceanside.
I work nights so i would be leaving PB around 7pm and heading to Oceanside. In the mornings I get off around 6am and would be heading from Oceanside back to PB around that same time. Is the commute pretty doable?
I was thinking about 45 mins from the looks of the map, but i'm not real familiar with traffic around those areas. Please help me out, thanks everyone!

I suspect you are probably going to run into a lot of congestion on the 5, especially on your way home in the morning. PB to Oceanside would normally be going against traffic, but since you have the night shift you're going to be fighting with the San Diego commuters. I used to do Carlsbad (just south of Oceanside) to La Jolla (north of PB) and that took 45 minutes in the morning, an hour in the afternoons.

yeah i could see it getting bad on days where the traffic really stops up due to an accident or something. but i drove from PB to Oceanside last night...Leaving PB around 7:20pm and made it to Vista Way in O'side right around 7:55, i'm guessing it'll just vary day to day from 35 min-1hr you think?

The evening commute should be easy but the AM will be tough, you will hit commuter traffic from Carlsbad to Del Mar, then it opens up again.

You didn't say what days you were working but if you work any weekend days like Friday night, the commute from PB to Oceanside will be a tough one, lots of traffic especially on holiday weekends.

Don't know if you are going to commute Saturday mornings but Saturdays are really tough from the N.County to the city.About 25-55 mins from CP down to the race track from 830-530.More so during the summer when all the out-of-towners come down but even year round there's still some slowing.
