My husband and I are considering a move to carlsbad from Irvine. We live in a very new prestine area right now and have a 19 months old. We live parks, lots of trees, playground, ect..My questions are these...

1. Are there any bad areas of carlsbad?
2. Is it safe?
3. What are the best elementary schools there
4. Coming from Orange County, we like the master planned communities and new homes. Our range is 530,000-560,000. Recommendations?

thanks!

I don't have kids, so couldn't comment on the school. Sorry. But Carlsbad is a very safe area. I have not seen any bad areas. The Carlsbad Village has nice restaurants/coffee shops, walking distance to the beach. My friends lived there, and we (females) would walk there at night with no problem at all. I think you should be able to find a nice home within your range. Not sure how new it will be though.

Bressi Ranch is a nice newer Carlsbad community: Bressi Ranch Community Association

Your price range is a little low for Bressi Ranch but you're in the ballpark.
