Can I get some recommendations for a nice city between Rancho Cucamonga and Temecula, or nearby those cities? How is San Jacinto? So far it is in the running.

Moving in just two short months. Need a "never" family friendly community. Have asked a couple of friends who currently live in Southern California and the list of cities to avoid is slowly getting longer.

I have been told to avoid Hemet and Lake Elsinore. Avoid Pomona, Covina, Fontana. Avoid Moreno Valley, Perris, Sun City.

I know Temecula and Murrieta are among the safest and nicest cities in the US, but also a bit above our price range which I won't get into. I can research the pricing if I can just get some city recommendations. Rancho Cucamonga and Upland were recommended.

What do you think? The list of cities to choose from has slowly dwindled. Work is flexible as it is out in the field so I can pretty much choose the city at this point.

Hemet and San Jacinto are in the same valley, and for most people, seem to blend together into one. If you feel you need to avoid Hemet, then you should probably avoid San Jacinto as well.

Honestly, it seems like your list to avoid is every single city between Rancho Cucamonga and Temecula. If you really do want to avoid all those places, then it might be best to concentrate on the less expensive parts of the Temecula/Murrieta/Menifee/French Valley/Winchester areas - you can definitely find houses that are under the median, price-wise - it may take a little more looking, but you can find them.

Good luck!

Thanks for your reply. It is not that I intend to avoid all of those places, I am wondering if the majority here agrees that ALL of those cities really are to be avoided?

I forgot to mention that we are only looking to rent for now, not buy, so it is not forever.

I appreciate your mentioning those other cities, I had not checked into those yet or heard much about them, Menifee, French Valley, Winchester.

[quote=cvinsant;21508633] Need a "never" family friendly community.

What does this mean to you? Are you asking for a community that's not family friendly?

If that's the case, I can recommend plenty...

Sorry, it was a typo, I meant to say "newer" LOL. Looking for newer style homes built year 2000 and up. Prefer 2005 and newer.

Nothing wrong with LE North of 15. Same goes for Fontana North of Foothill.

There is no entire city to avoid. There are livable places in all of them.

Personally, I don't have a problem with LE South of the 15 or Fontana South of Foothill, but I'm not your typical gabacho.
