I'm on the NW side near Culebra/tezel/Grissom and I was robbed. Not one drop at my house.

1.12" of rain at the airport. KSAT says they got 1.46" downtown.

Wow, those are some decent 4-hour numbers, Bo!! Every little bit helps!

Camper1, I think it was called George Road. Could be wrong, though.

no rain in the west 1604 area. Wow the critters are desperate. The armadillos are destroying my yard looking for grubs and water.

Please rain here soon.

It's not that surprising, actually. After long dry spells the ground becomes hard because it totally dries out. Then when it rains, especially if it rains hard and fast, the water doesn't sink into the ground very well because the dirt is "hardened". This creates an uncharacteristic amount of run off that can lead to flash-flooding of low-lying areas.

Happens all the time in the desert.

I fully understand how the phenomenon occurs and have witnessed it numerous times, I just didn't think mere 1-1.5" of rain we got could produce such conditions...
