you can't kill a rose! I actually tried to kill one a while ago and it's coming back up now. They just need a lot of sun and a little water, which is exactly what the summer weather in SA is. I always recommend them to people that don't have green thumbs because they are so easy. and that picture above is really nice. Love that color

Ha! I'm not buying that line anymore. All the headstones on my dead plants say " sun and little water killed me"

are the roses in the part of your yard that gets the most sun? That is where they need to be. I was being serious too. I planted mine in 2002 and have almost completely neglected them and they occasionally died back a little, but they always come back.

Just received this little weather chuckler from a friend...thought I would share with you guys since we are all lamenting the fact it doesn't appear it will EVER rain here again...

We are in the worst drought since the 1950s and I see San Antonio on the national news regularly because we have shattered the record for number of days in the 100s. Now it is having an effect on organized religion. It's so dry in Texas, that the Baptists are starting to baptize by sprinkling, the Methodists are using wet-wipes, the Presbyterians are giving out rain-checks, and the Catholics are praying for the wine to turn back into water. Now, THAT'S Dry!
