Dang it, I missed it all!
Just woke up to hear birds chirping and the sun trying to peek through.
It obviously rained...I just didn't get to know I was sleeping through it. One of my favorite passtimes is napping during a rain shower.

Have a Happy Easter everyone!

Probably not a lot here today. I think it rained for 45 mnutes or less from start to finish. Better luck next time I guess... At least I won't have to water the grass this week.

It was enough rain for a few days at least and it looks like we might be in for a long weekend of rain next weekend, I hope.

Nice weather today... we'll still enjoy the benefits of the dryline that moved through yesterday after the storms. Highs in the lower 80s today under sunny skies.

Still tracking the next storm for us as there is an approaching upper level low positioned over the Pacific Northwest that is expected to position itself over the Rocky Mountains. Later in the week by Wednesday and Thursday this storm system will deepen and shift eastward into the Central Plains (Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska). As this occurs, several smaller disturbances will propagate around the main central low pressure. These disturbances could affect South-Central Texas on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with showers and thunderstorms. Current rain chances appear to be around 30-50% during this period.

Errrrr...you are mad because you didn't wake up so you could take a nap?

Don't you realize you were sleeping during the rainshower?

And I hope you had a happy Easter as well!

Cheers! M2

Yeah, I know. It's kinda like calling in sick for work, only to find out boss gave everyone the day off. You still got the day off, but it's not the same...

and besides...I didn't know it was raining while I was sleeping.

LOL That's a pretty good analogy.

Models are still showing a very heavy rain event later this week. I'm definitely keeping my fingers crossed, because the last time we had a setup this favorable for heavy rainfal is probably 2007. More good news is that the long range models show a much rainier pattern in our future as well. Hopefully this trend continues.

Precipitable Water Tables are forecast to be in excess of 1.5" across South-Central Texas, with some areas being near or around 2". That is absolutely incredible in April. We usually don't see those numbers until the thick of summer and that's when a tropical cyclone is nearing. To put it in perspective, that's about 150-200% above the April average.

The SPC still thinks it's possible for some severe weather, and I agree. However, the main threat at this time appears to me to be heavy rain.

now that's my kind of forecast
and luckily I wasn't one of those suckers that dumped their truck when gas prices went up last year.

BTW, these mornings can continue all summer
