USAA recently opened a branch office just outside 1604 at Culebra. Haven't been in there yet but glad to see a branch open...and on this side of town.

Now if they could just open up one in Houston we'd really be in business.

We have been members of USAA for years now, and I have NEVER seen an actual building (we have been stationed in Georgia and Louisiana). Guess we will see one now when we move on over to Lackland next month!

Don't get your hopes up, they don't have actual tellers for the banking side of their business.

Banks with branches and tellers are so 2008...USAA's new iPhone app lets you deposit a check with your phone! USAA's new iPhone app accepts deposits (http://www.mysanantonio.com/business/local/USAAs_new_iPhone_app_accepts_deposits_.html - broken link)

My wife and I went to deposit a payroll check and the funds were not going to be available right away. I still like the convenience of a teller or motor bank. Also, you can't use that feature unless you have a credit line open with them like a credit card or loan.

Direct deposit's where it's at. I get all of my checks a day earlier than the actual deposit date.

This seems to be where banking is headed: online, on the phone and other automation features.

We both have direct deposit, but if we have to deposit checks, we use the Deposit @ Home feature... just scan both sides of the check and submit. The funds are available right away. We love USAA.
