The chicken fried steak is all dough and no meat. Vegetable are good. Great, beautiful onion rings.

Quite homey--gets crowded. No credit nor ATM cards.

Don't be hatin on the CFS...I've been eating that thing for 25+ years.....it's the best around. Although...the one from Good Time Charlie's can give it a good run...if only cuz of the gravy that they put crack in

There is an ATM across the street from Tip Top at Jefferson State bank. No problem.

I've been dining there for over 40 years and it's still one of the best "Cafes" around.

Food is good staff is terrible! There have been few incidents with the staff and other patrons. Makes for good entertainment. Lets just say the attitude needs some adjusting. That CFS is good enough for me to ignore and munch!

I think their onion rings and fried shrimp rock - the chicken fried steak, not so much. Just my two cents.

We call Bud Jones, Grandmas. I can't think of any place in town with veggies like they have- just like Grandma used to make. The fish is not as good as the fish from 20 years ago but still eatable. The Chicken Fried steak is huge but unless you salt and pepper the heck out of it, it's pretty much no flavor. Their shrimp is fabulous as well as the luncheon menu.
For CF steak, I like Tip Top and Herman Sons in Hondo. Coras 476 is also a favorite. Cap't Bens is pretty good for the fish....a LOT like Barnacle Bills was.
