Place a dunce hat on my head. I do remember in some of your previous post that you were looking for places to go and see and now if I remember right I posted a link to my thread for you. You were trying to see Houston, Dallas and San Antonio. Maybe you could buy a ticket that allows you to get on and off the amtrac (our passenger rail service) and that way you could see Austin, Waco and Dallas. I'm not sure if amtrac goes to Houston. Best thing would be to rent a car. Everything is spread out. I do hope you have an enjoyable trip. By the way, just above your first post on this thread I posted direct links to many places to go and see around San Antonio. That would probably be useful, ie Fiesta,Texas, Seaworld, The Alamo, etc. Have a fun trip and be sure to go to Night in Old San Antonio (N.I.O.S.A.). That is the fun carnival during Fiesta week.

I will never put you a dunce hat on your head, gy2020!
Sure, I will love SA and all its towns around. Thanks to the web, I already fell in love with the River of San Antonio and some of the little towns around!!!
I can see thanks to this forum that the San Antonians are very friendly!!! I am sure that I will meet nice people while I am there!

So you suggest me going to night in old san Antonio. (N.I.O.S.A). What is this place (N.I.O.S.A)? it has to be seen only by night? Do I have to go there only during the fiesta week?

Looking forward to this trip!!!

Kind regards,

Romy

NIOSA as it is known by its initials is run by the San Antonio Conservation Society. It is held only at night, opens 530pm until 10pm. There are hundreds, maybe thousand booths set up for eating and drinking, fortune tellers, everything. You can get food and drink from 26 different ethnic groups at this event. It is a must. It is open Tuesday-Friday nights, the week of the Fiesta in April. Monday night is the River Parade.
The little ladies (as the Conservation Society is known) use the event to raise money for their charitable work. They probably raise $100,000 or more from this event. It has been going on for 40 years or more.

I'm not taking pictures this weekend, unless I get a couple of little communities in the neighborhood. Been spending too much time out and it cost me $12/hr for help. I also wanted to get this thread on the front page again.

I did some light photography in my neighborhood today. I photographed the communities of Clear Springs, Barbarossa and Geronimo. Also a ghost town of Deitz's Community on Highway 46 near Clear Springs.
We'll start in my neighborhood with a picture of a neighbor's house who build new classic corvettes, repairs corvettes and has his own private runway for his plane.

Tomorrow I will photograph one of the other neighboring towns and if my plans go as I want, next Friday afternoon I will be walking down the Riverwalk in San Antonio. If you see an old codger with a mustache and fairly long hair taking pictures on the Riverwalk that just might be me and you too could have your picture taken for the internet. See ya down there, gy2020
