Should this graffiti proposal pass, I wonder how it will affect city owned utilities. Like light poles, utility boxes, bridges, etc...

Oh, and did you see the shopping center behind the bill millers on Potranco and 1604? They got the next round of spray paint. Sad!

Seems like the West side mentality is here to stay!

Get use to the spray paint! It is a mainstay in SA just like the Alamo and Spurs.

For better or for worse, this is our home...this is-SanAnto, 210....essay

I have also seen this graffitti crap and I am really angry about it. It sure let's people who are driving through know just what type of people hang out around here!!

We can only hope that places that get "tagged" will have the graffitii removed quickly to discourage further vandalism. Also, I hope area residents will stay on hyper-alert for these punks and report/confront/thwart their activities!

Zactly!!!! And novemberhawk is wrong about the "west side mentality" being this far West. Totally different mentalities and different areas. So the kids that tagged this area are just that, kids. Not bangers, just wanna be's. I for one wouldn't hesitate to confront them, take their paint cans, spray it all over their clothes, and then throw the empty cans right in their faces! Then while they're standing there with their jaws on the ground I'd grab them by the scuffs of their necks and take them back to their mommies! (And of course, the "parents" would get a talkin' to from me as well!) Fear of confrontation or wanting to "stay out of it" just breeds contempt and I for one am on the look out for the little buggers.

OK, off my soapbox.

This same thing is happening in every large metro in the state. I saw a news report the other day where a guy set up a camera to film who kept coming and defacing his brick wall with graffiti. He was shocked to see that the camera captured three anglo boys spraying the wall while Daddy's Lexus was left running with the doors open for a fast get-away. Go figure..

You can shine a piece of crap up all day long, but in the end it's still a peice of crap.

Once the west side, always the west side.

Default POTRANCO and 1604 CITY PARK..... sipping away

How is everyone, I recently moved to NW San Antonio and have been watching your message traffic. I wonder how they are going to fit a City Park from donated HEB land between Chase Bank and a Kohls?

http://www.sanantonio.gov/sapar/pdf/cipfeb07.pdf (broken link)

Better watch closely to see if that donated land doesn't fall off the list..

Oh, and here's the plan on how it's set up to be done:

http://weingarten.com/mediabin_import/Property%20Photos/0606%20(Westwood%20Center,%20San%20Antonio,%20TX)/Site%20Plans/0606--(Get%20Original).pdf (broken link)

Anbody know the actual start date....as in what's really more likely to happen. The parks dept says completion date is October this year.
